RSNA Knee Abnormality Detection — Multi-Label MRI Classification

A Kaggle research-code competition entry predicting 12 clinical knee findings (ACL and meniscus tears, osteoarthritis, effusion, fracture) from MRI. Only 58 of 4,407 training studies had expert labels, so I generated training targets for the rest from multilingual radiology reports using regex phrase matching with bidirectional negation detection, validated against the expert subset. A multi-plane ResNet18 with a masked loss, trained with 5-fold cross-validation grouped by scanner model to prevent site leakage, reached 0.65 macro-AUC on the expert-labelled holdout and was submitted as a reproducible, internet-disabled notebook.

Uses a hybrid architecture pairing Gemini NLP with deterministic safety rules, maintaining 100% assessment availability during API quota/outage conditions via a fallback extraction engine.

Patient Readmission Risk Predictor

An end-to-end ML pipeline predicting 30-day hospital readmission risk across 100,000+ clinical encounters — preprocessing, feature engineering, Random Forest and XGBoost modeling, and SHAP-based explainability. Deployed as a Streamlit dashboard designed for clinicians, returning per-patient risk scores with SHAP explanations of what drives each prediction.

An end-to-end fairness audit pipeline evaluating demographic bias in AI-assisted clinical triage, built on the MIMIC-III Clinical Database Demo, an openly available subset of de-identified ICU admissions. Quantifies disparities across gender, ethnicity, and age — including false-negative rate gaps — using Fairlearn's demographic parity and equalized-odds metrics, surfaced through an interactive dashboard.
